The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has established an accreditation scheme for sea freight forwarders. This ensures that participating firms meet the essential requirements to operate legally. Additionally, the scheme aims to enhance the quality of services, capabilities, resources, and expertise of these firms. It also seeks to eliminate practices that hinder the growth of the freight forwarding industry and protect the interests of Philippine shippers.
