On Election Day, Washingtonians will not only vote for a new president but also decide several key state races.

According to the Washington Secretary of State’s Office, which oversees all elections across the state, there are 5 million registered voters. This November, the ballot includes 11 U.S.

Congressional races, 25 State Senate races, 98 State Representative races, nine statewide executive races, three State Supreme Court races, and 53 other state judicial races.

The Secretary of State’s Office is responsible for certifying all results and conducting any recounts. The candidates on the ballot advanced after the August primary election.

Washingtonians will be voting to fill the seat of Governor Jay Inslee, who was elected in 2012 and has served three terms as Washington’s governor.

The governor’s seat is the state’s top executive office. The governor is responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the state executive branch during their four-year term. It is the only executive office elected in all 50 states.

Democratic nominee Bob Ferguson has served as Washington’s attorney general since 2013. In the August primary, he won 44.88% of the votes to advance to the November general election.

Republican nominee Dave Reichert is a former King County sheriff and U.S. Representative for Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Reichert secured a spot on the November ballot after receiving 27.48% of the votes during the primary election.
